In a bleak and distant future, humanity drifts aboard an enormous exodus fleet, struggling to escape the godlike parasites that devoured Earth and her sun. Hounded by a monster that wears the remains of sacred Luna like a shell, the fleet becomes at once more desperate, and more complacent, as artificial humans called fabricants are mass-produced to carry the burdens humans would prefer not to, and the journey into the deep black settles into a tense but routine status quo.

But the dark contains dangers unforeseen, and the impossible weight laid upon the shoulders of fabricants may have consequences their makers could never predict—or have simply chosen to ignore. Either way, the cost of it all will soon come due.
